Glitter pins are enamel pins infused with glitter in the enamel filling, creating a textured, eye-catching shimmer that stands out from standard enamel pins.
What are Glitter Pins?
Once your pin plating of your choice is molded, glitter is added into the enamel, and the soft enamel is added in the recessed areas of the pin. And then it’s baked to avoid any glittery mess. Optionally, a clear epoxy coating is often applied for extra durability and a smooth finish.
Although you can use them on both soft and hard enamel, it’s recommended on soft enamel pins because usually after buffing the pins, the glitter tends to look duller on hard enamel while the glitter is more obvious on soft enamel. But the glitter can wear off when done on soft enamel, which is why an epoxy coating is recommended to last longer without creating a mess.

There are three types of glitter to choose from- fine, chunky and holographic. The type of glitter chosen can slightly change the color of the enamel filling, it’s always recommended to try samples for the color combination.
Pro Tip: For better results, it’s best to add glitter in bigger areas of the design rather than on smaller areas or lines.
