Polish Artist creates beautiful Japan-inspired Temporary Tattoos: Featured Designer
East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet” -Rudyard Kipling
Or so it was believed for a very long time.
With her Japan-inspired temporary tattoos, Polish artist Amal Al-Shahari has broken cultural barriers and created a stunning artistic melting pot.
A product designer, Amal loves travelling, illustrating and designing, not necessarily in the same order. Her ‘’Inspired by Japan” temporary tattoo series is a story of serendipity, cultural influences and creative joy. Her Japan-inspired illustrations began as an entry to a competition, transitioned to an exhibition at the famous coffee shop Parzymy tutaj in her hometown, Bydgoszcz, moved to a Japanese themed festival on art and culture before finally being metamorphosed into temporary tattoos. Amal says the transformation of her artwork into tattoos came about as a suggestion from some children!
Let’s dive into Amal’s beautiful world!
These are some of the illustrations that Amal drew as an entry to a competition.
Amal’s illustrations were displayed at an exhibition at Parzymy tutaj café in Bydgoszcz
Some children suggested to Amal that her illustrations would work great as temporary tattoos. Tada! These gorgeous tattoos were born. The tattoo designs include a sumo wrestler, cherry blossoms, masks, maneki neko cats, a geisha, tigers and more.
