NDP 2024 is right around the corner, August 9th, 2024 to be specific and the preparations for the red and white day are in full swing. There will be a lot of new traditions introduced this year. It’s going to be one of the largest NDP parade ever held with 14,000 participants and volunteers. The theme of the Parade along with the new logo and song was unveiled at the Marina Bay Floating Platform. At an event the NDP 2024, executive committee chairman rightly said “We Are Singapore’ represents the collective voice of Singaporeans …a pledge of unity and togetherness among Singapore’s diverse cultures and origins.”
The new theme song is a revamped version of the good old classic from 1987 “We Are Singapore”. The local singer/songwriter Charlie Lim was responsible for this amazing revamped version. It has been very carefully thought out. The idea of taking an old classic was to please the older generation and the new verses of lyrics were written keeping in mind the new and younger generation. A perfect song for the parade that strikes a balance between the young and the old.
The parade will also feature the first ever combined aerial jump performed by the Naval Combat Drivers and Red Lion parachutists landing into the waters of the Marina Bay. The Combined Schools Choir will be returning after a five year break. The parade is also going to witness the largest military tattoo display ever in the history of NDP with more students playing an active role in the event. So as you can see, there are a lot of firsts in this year’s NDP Parade and NDP Tattoos.

This year we plan to make the temporary tattoos for the NDP even bigger and brighter. Gumtoo keeps pace with the latest trends and following it we have brought in metallic tattoos for the occasion.
